I really love this piece. The top and base are of beech, somewhat spalted, but what makes it really special to me is what’s in between. On our acreage, there are the remnants of an old homestead that was abandoned, as near as we could ever discern, in the mid 1930’s. this piece of apple wood came from one of the many apple trees that were part of that homestead. When this particular tree died (there are still several we harvest fruit from every fall) I knew I would do something with the trunk, of which this is just a part.
This table will carry whatever objects you put on it, within reason; but DO NOT sit on it or subject it to undue stress. I’m pretty sure you can tell why.
